Bob Tomaino is a native of Hazleton, PA. He is a Penn State University graduate in Secondary Education in Biology as was a teacher of Biology for 12 years before devoting his full time emphasis on the teaching of martial arts. He holds the rank of Yondan, 4th degree black belt, in Shito Ryu Karate and a Godan in Hakko Ryu Jiu Jitsu. He has been training in Wing Chun Gung Fu for the past 20 years in many styles of it with many instructors.
He started his martial arts training in 1971 with Sensei Bob Seamen in Hazleton and trained under Sensei Richard Campbell in Hazleton, Shihan Roger Wehrhahn in Karate and Shihan Lemuel Stroud in Kinston, North Carolina in Jiu Jitsu. He holds the rank of Nidan in Iaido in San Shin Kai Iaido Federation under Mitsuzuka Takeshi, 8th dan, from Japan.
